Hi! My name is Kathryn Osgood, but you may call me Kathy. I’m a Chicago-based portrait photographer who lives in the western suburbs (Glen Ellyn). As a portrait photographer who has been in business for 10 years, I am an experienced professional with an eye for the more magical aspects of life and childhood. I prefer using natural light when possible, but I’m comfortable with using off-camera lighting when needed to create the best possible portraits. From crying babies to shy teens and uncomfortable dads, I’m happy working with a variety of personalities, families, and humans and pets in general.
Many people ask me what my favorite thing is to photograph – I don’t really have an answer to that! I love the gentle slowness of working with newborn babies, the fun chaos of toddlers, the sweetness of older kids, the shyness of teens and pre-teens. I love sitting down with Chicagoland business owners to narrow down their marketing goals and find a great advertising approach for their branding session. As a graduate of the University of Florida, it is a joy to use my advertising degree to help your business with beautiful, thoughtful, planned social media posts and website images.
Hobbies
In addition to photography, I’m also an avid gardener in our home in Glen Ellyn, IL with a passion for permaculture, edible landscaping, and natives. I also enjoy baking and spending time with my husband, two boys, and our two dogs and cat. Your pets are always welcome in your photography sessions!
As a proud mom, I know how fast kids grow and change and how precious these memories are. The photographs I have of my children are among my most cherished belongings. It is my hope that I can give beautiful heirloom memories to your family, too, to proudly hang on your walls, to live in albums and books on your shelves, and in more places than just your hard drives. Photography is art that should be seen and loved by your whole family!
