My name is Kathryn Osgood, and I’m the woman behind Little Bear Photography, but you can call me Kathy. I’m a Florida native and UF graduate who moved to Chicago in 2011. I have since settled in Glen Ellyn, IL with my amazing husband, two boys, two dogs, and a cat (no partridge in a pear tree, yet). I have 8 years of experience in business and have photographed hundreds of families. My work has been featured in magazines, on covers, and all over Instagram (do you follow me yet? instagram.com/blondieandbears ).

My focus is on family, newborn, babies, children, teens, maternity, and branding/headshots photography in Chicago and the surrounding Chicagoland area.

My Work

I am primarily an outdoor, natural-light photographer, and I am happiest scheduling you early morning near sunrise, or late afternoon/evening at sunset when the light is most beautiful. However, I am also skilled at creating light in your home, or making anytime that is convenient for you work. My style can be described as joyful, playful, and whimsical, with an emphasis on fine-art editing.

Having young children myself, I LOVE spending time with and getting to know your children! Making authentic connections is what makes your photographs amazing, and it’s something I spend extra time doing to ensure your children feel safe opening up and being themselves during our session. I work to ONLY get authentic expressions, smiles, and moments. What I hear time and time again is how much families appreciate my patience and ability to capture so much in so little time from their children. Be prepared to laugh, play games, and be a little silly (maybe some potty humor) during your session with me.
